#TimeForHeroes
Whether you’ve been a Doctor Who fan forever, or just since the reboot, if you love the Doctor then you’ve got an opinion over the writing, the stories, the Doctor, who, why and when… and I think it’s safe to say that Peter Capaldi has been a truly excellent addition to the history, even if the scripts have lacked a little now and then.
The trouble is when you build something up with so much excitement, there’s always going to be expectation and with that comes the dreaded ‘let down’ or people feeling underwhelmed. David Tennant and then Matt Smith were always going to be a hard act to follow, especially the series probably peaked in popularity with Smith and the 50th Anniversary (John Hurt!!) celebrations, but that’s not to say there’s nothing new to come and there’s not more to explore and invent. This is Doctor Who. There’s always the unexpected.
This afternoon we celebrate a big series 10 teaser trailer (plus properly meeting Pearl Mackie) and… there’s SO much to come! As for what happens after the 12th, I just want someone unknown, male, female, black or white I don’t mind as long as they’ve got the spirit for the role because that’s a large part of connection. Who’s going to play lucky 13? Let us know…
