Martin McDonagh could well be on the path to becoming a cult favourite and if this excellent, foul-mouthed red-band trailer for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is anything to go by, he’s about to get even more deserved attention.
McDonagh has been away from the film scene for five years but after the excellent In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, plus an exec producer slot on The Guard inbetween it all, it’s about time he’s back and this first NSFW trailer is brilliant and while it echoes the Coen Brothers best elements, it does also feel like something fresh, dark and interesting on the scene.
With Frances McDormand (who looks to give another immense performance) in the lead role, the film has an immense cast that also includes Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, John Hawkes, Peter Dinklage, Kathryn Newton, Abbie Cornish and Zeljko Ivanek to name just a selection.
So now, watch the trailer and let me know what you think on Twitter:
