If I’m honest, I was avoiding watching this for a while because it all sounded a bit dated and bonkers but this final trailer for Guy Ritchie‘s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword really is very smart, and my mind has been well and truly changed by two and a half minutes of action-packed, mystical-adventure-escapism goodness.
Starring Charlie Hunnam as Arthur, it also stars Jude Law, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Eric Bana, Poppy Delevingne and Annabelle Wallis and here’s the official synopsis:
When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
I wanted to to blasé about it but the trailer is epic with some beautiful dark, moody tones running throughout it and although Hunnam comes across with strength and as for an all-out evil Jude Law? That’s just perfect. Watch the final trailer below:
