This English-language version features the voice talents of Ellen Page, Nick Offerman, Will Forte and Amy Sedaris, it debuted during Director’s Fortnight at Cannes and was nominated for both a Golden Globe and Academy Award, which isn’t too shabby at all.
My Life as a Courgette is the debut feature for director Claude Barras, is based on a script from writer/director Céline Sciamma, who you’ll know best for Girlhood, and here’s the synopsis:
After his mother’s sudden death, Courgette is befriended by a police officer, Raymond, who accompanies him to his new foster home filled with other orphans his age. At first he struggles to find his place in this often strange and hostile environment. Yet with Raymond’s help and his newfound friends, Courgette eventually learns to trust and love, as he searches for a new family of his own.
