To celebrate the IMAX release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we are giving away mini-posters of their exclusive artwork for the film thanks to our galactic friends at IMAX. The artwork, highlights everyone’s favorite ragtag group of misfits including Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and the one and only Yondu.
Fans that go to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in IMAX will get to experience more of the team’s galactic adventures because select scenes will feature special IMAX formatting. Only in IMAX will these scenes be presented in an expanded 1.9:1 aspect ratio, which means fans will get to see 26% more of the image than standard cinemas for a must-see IMAX event. To illustrate the expanded aspect ratio, IMAX created a GIF that depicts what movie-goers will see in standard cinemas versus what they will see in IMAX in an actual scene from the film.
IMAX has also released a special featurette with commentary from Director James Gunn on how he designed several sequences of the film with an expanded IMAX aspect ratio to provide audiences with a truly immersive cinematic experience.
The IMAX release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customised theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
