SO! Here’s something that picked up love at the Sundance Film Festival recently and today I wanted to share the great trailer for Patti Cake$, an unusual story of the rise to fame for rapper Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P a.k.a. Patti Cake$.
Directed by first-time feature filmmaker Geremy Jasper, it stars Danielle Macdonald as the aspiring musician in a way you’ve not really seen before. The film co-stars Bridget Everett, Siddharth Dhananjay and Mamoudou Athie. Here’s a little official synopsis and that great trailer:
Set in gritty strip-mall suburbia, PATTI CAKE$ chronicles an underdog’s quest for fame and glory with humour, raw energy and unforgettable beats.
PATTI CAKE$ arrives in UK cinemas in on 1st September 2017 following its UK premiere as the closing night of Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House on August 23rd – More details on that here:
