Most of us know that it can be difficult to say ‘Adam Sandler’ without getting some kind of adverse reaction from those around you. While his recent films have been underwhelming, I’ve always enjoyed him in roles where he excelled, such as his turns in Punch Drunk Love, Funny People or The Wedding Singer. With this new film, that’s coming to Netflix on October 13, he’s joined up with a stunning cast that includes Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Elizabeth Marvel and Emma Thompson for The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), from excellent indie director Noah Baumbach.

Baumbach’s has given us the likes of While We’re Young, Frances Ha and The Squid and the Whale, so dysfunctional is definitely his forte and this new one doesn’t look to be bucking the trend. Also co-starring is Grace Van Patten, Adam Driver, Candice Bergen, Judd Hirsch, and Rebecca Miller. The film was produced by Scott Rudin, Baumbach, Lila Yacoub, and Eli Bush.

An Official Selection of Cannes Film Festival 2017, the film will make its North American premiere at this year’s New York Film Festival.
