After the glorious Arrival earlier this year, it seems there’s even more room for intriguing, intelligent sci-fi and this time it’s in the shape of Annihilation that stars the excellent Natalie Portman in the lead role; you’re going to love this trailer.
Directed by Alex Garland, who’s written the likes of 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Never Let Me Go to name a few, he also recently wrote and directed Ex Machina. For his new film, the only official insight I’ve got so far is this little synopsis:
A biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don’t apply.
Based on the best-selling Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer, you just need to watch this one and find what you like the most, it’s released on 23rd February 2018 – There’s also a great insight with the author over on Collider, click here to head there… after you’ve watched below!
Annihilation co-stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny and Oscar Isaac. It opens across the UK on February 23, 2018.
