Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson‘s London theatre production Ghost Stories was one of those I constantly tempted myself with, but never was quite brave enough to head inside the theatre. There’s nothing quite like a good horror/thriller that plays with the mind, and this film adaptation by the same creators appears to hold true to everything I expected but now, the reality is, I really want to see what they’ve done for the big screen.
Nyman is best known for his work with the fantastic Derren Brown, and Dyson with the twisted The League of Gentlemen team, so that already gives you a little insight into the workings of their minds – both clever and dowsed in the unerring nature that anything can happen. The film version stars Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther, Andy Nyman, Paul Whitehouse, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith with Nyman leading the cast in the role of Professor Goodman, a professor of psychology, arch-skeptic, the one-man ‘belief buster’ – who has his rationality tested when he receives a letter from beyond the grave.
Check out the THREE teasers, none of them give anything away, and the great four posters below – I already want in:
Ghost Stories opens in the UK on Friday 13th April 2018.
