Although this is the first I’ve heard of Walk Like A Panther, opening in the UK on 9 March, I instantly fell for the trailer and really love the vibe, cast and comedy of what is surely set to be the next big British hit with all the right hallmarks of the likes of The Full Monty, which is helped by a great ensemble cast lead by Stephen Graham alongside Dave Johns, Jill Halfpenny and more.
Directed by Dan Cadan, making his feature film debut from his own original screenplay, Walk Like A Panther focuses around a group of ‘80s wrestlers who don the lycra one last time when their beloved local pub is threatened by closure. Led by father-son duo, Mark (Graham) and Trevor Bolton (Johns), this unlikely bunch of underdog heroes sets out to save their community, rekindling old friendships and family ties along the way.
There are co-starring roles for Sue Johnston, Lindsey Coulson, Julian Sands, Jason Flemyng, Stephen Tompkinson, Michael Socha and hip hop artist/poet Scroobius Pip – Everything about this made me want to watch it now! Check it out for yourselves below:
