Now here’s an intriguing new title from legendary German director Wim Wenders as he teams up with James McAvoy and Alicia Vikander for the mysteriously intense Submergence, out in the UK on 18 May.
This trailer reveals a love story of a very different kind, as we follow Danielle Flinders (Vikander) and James More (McAvoy), who meet by chance in a remote hotel in Normandy where they’re preparing for different, dangerous missions. Whilst Danielle is a bio-mathematician working on a deep sea diving project to support her theory about the origin of life, James is British Secret Service and about to head off to Somalia but life has something else planned for them…

This trailer is both beautiful and haunting, and while it does show a lot of plot progression, I feel like Submergence still has a lot of surprises beneath the surface. Watch the trailer now:
Co-starring Alexander Siddig, Submergence opens in UK cinemas on 18 May 2018.
