With it’s international premiere forming a key part of the Sundance: London 2018 programme and expectations on high, a brand new trailer has been released for Half the Picture, Amy Adrion‘s debut documentary on gender discrimination in the Hollywood system.

Half the Picture is a feature length documentary about the dismal number of women directors working in Hollywood, using the current EEOC investigation into discriminatory hiring practices as a framework to talk to successful women directors about their career paths, their struggles, their inspiration and their hopes for the future. featuring interviews with inspiring directors such as Ava DuVernay, Kimberly Peirce, Brenda Chapman and Catherine Hardwicke, the film promises inspiring stories and intense debate aplenty.

Amid the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements which have highlighted gender inequality in the film industry, Sundance Film Festival: London champions female voices and asks #WhatNext. 58% of the films showcased at the festival have been directed by women, along with a thrilling array of female leads, writers and producers featuring across the festival line-up.  Please find full programme press release attached to this email.

Sundance Film Festival: London takes place at Picturehouse Central, 31 May – 3 June 2018.

Additional tickets for the festival have now been released due to sell-out shows and are now on sale here: www.picturehouses.com/Sundance
