While we all know the story, and have literally seen the pictures, of Neil Armstrong’s first step onto the moon, it’s not often we get to truly explore the real-life story underneath this seemingly impossible journey. Universal Pictures’ First Man, directed by Whiplash and LA LA Land’s Damien Chazelle, stars Ryan Gosling as the world-famous astronaut in this unique tale of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon.

With a screenplay by Spotlight‘s Josh Singer, who re-worked an older version by Nicole Perlman, the film focuses on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. Described as a ‘visceral, first-person account’, First Man is based on the book by James R. Hansen, and the film will explore the sacrifices and the cost—on Armstrong and on the nation—of one of the most dangerous missions in history.

Watch now and check out a brand new gallery of images below from the film that’s released in the UK on 12 October 2018:

First Man co-stars Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Patrick Fugit, Ciaran Hinds, Ethan Embry, Shea Whigham, Corey Stoll, and Pablo Schreiber – It opens across the UK on 12 October.

    1. Yeah, for sure. I pretty much trust those two now, they’ve got a good understanding. I also think Chazelle will really know how to ramp up the tension, should be an interesting insight!
