Entertainment One UK have released the first trailer for Green Book, starring Viggo Mortensen as Tony Lip and Mahershala Ali as pianist, Don Shirley and it’s full of hope, fight, music and exciting performances.
Set in America in 1962, Green Book tells the heart-warming true story of Tony Lip (Mortensen), a working-class Italian-American bouncer who takes on a job as a chauffeur for Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a highly-educated African-American classical pianist. The mismatched pair embark on a two-month tour of concert venues in the racially charged deep south and discover they’re on the road to a meaningful and unique friendship.
Given the era and the fantastic actors involved, it just feels like something really special and important. Co-starring the excellent Linda Cardellini, watch the trailer now and scroll down for more images:

Directed by Peter Farrelly, one of the brothers behind the likes of Dumb and Dumber and There’s Something About Mary, this is a huge shift in genre for him but definitely one to look out for.
