Critical popcorn

Directed by Tom Harper, Wild Rose stars Jessie Buckley, and I pretty much fell for this film within the first 20 seconds of the trailer, who plays Rose-Lynn Harlan, a young woman just out of jail and with two kids finds herself in the pursuit of a dream, which is getting out of Glasgow and and off to Nashville to be a country singer.

Buckley was exceptional in the award-winning Beast, read Jazmine’s review here, and here she looks fantastic once again. Wild Rose also stars Julie Walters as her Mum, Marion, who’s not taking any of her nonsense and forces Rose-Lynn to get a job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house (Sophie Okonedo).
