Yes! Finally we’ve got the details and official info for the 20th Anniversary release of Cameron Crowe‘s iconic, outstanding and (could you tell) personal favourite…. Almost Famous.

While anyone who’s is anyone, or a Golden God, would have pre-ordered one of the many 20th Anniversary vinyl or CD options over the past week, I’ll come back to that if you’ve not seen them yet, it’s fantastic news to see that Almost Famous will get its 4K and Blu-ray release on 12th July, one day before Mr Crowe’s birthday no less.

Starring Patrick Fugit, Billy Crudup, Kate Hudson, Frances McDormand, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Anna Paquin, Fairuza Balk, Jason Lee, Noah Taylor, Zooey Deschanel, Michael Angarano, John Fedevich, Mark Kozelek, Jimmy Fallon, and many more – It’ll be available for the first time on 4K Ultra HD on July 12 courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Crowe’s film was nominated for 4 Academy Awards and was winner of Best Original Screenplay, and while most of us know what it’s about now, if you’re new to the film, here you go and pre-order this amazing set now!

Set in 1973, ALMOST FAMOUS chronicles the funny and often poignant coming-of-age of 15-year-old music fanatic William (Patrick Fugit). Having managed to land an assignment from Rolling Stone magazine to interview the up-and-coming band Stillwater, fronted by lead guitarist Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and with the help of gorgeous ‘’band aid’’ Penny Lane (Kate Hudson), William finds himself drawn into the band’s inner circle, despite the objections of his over-protective mother (Frances McDormand). As he becomes less an observer and more a participant in the band’s dynamics, William learns a life-changing lesson about the importance of family – the ones we inherit and the ones we create.
