The quality of the Apple TV+ output is continually high in the past year, and Sidney really does look like the next big, must-watch documentary, which focus on the life of Sidney Poitier, the iconic actor, filmmaker and activist at the center of Hollywood and the Civil Rights Movement.

Produced by Oprah Winfrey, written by Jesse James Miller, and directed by Reginald Hudlin, you can tell from the trailer it’ll be a revealing insight that not only honours the legendary but also delves into the reality of his journey through changing eras. The documentary features interviews with the likes of Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, Lenny Kravitz, Barbra Streisand, Spike Lee and many more, the film is also produced by Derik Murray, in close collaboration with the Poitier family.
