Oh god, nostalgia and film love, you’ve hit me right in the feels! When a franchise is such a part of your youth, and beyond, then there’s always that fear of the unknown when the ‘world’ carries on but also deep excitement. I’m very happy to say that the first trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny looks like everything we used to know so well, drifting through the ages and with extra freshness and new, exciting possibilities – which is hopefully the best way it can go, after the so-so last outing.

Directed by James Mangold, and with a script co-written with Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, the one and only Harrison Ford returns as the iconic archaeologist and adventurer and this time we’re into 1969, with the Space Race being the backdrop of proceedings as well as the classic crossover of government shenanigans, the Soviet Union being their competition and some ex-Nazi’s lingering in the shadows.
Alongside Ford, the film stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Olivier Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.
Was there a slight tear after watching this one? Yes, yes there was, let’s head out there for one more time – COMPLETE with the new trailer from the Star Wars Celebration!
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny comes to cinemas from 30 June
