Sure, there’s probably been a fair hit of lethargy in response to some of the MCU films of late, I mean after 13 years of build and pay off, it’s inevitable really – isn’t it? That being said, I still think the TV shows have been where the real talent lies, with the likes of WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel being where it’s really happening – not forgetting the truly epic and inventive Shang-Chi, of course – plus Secret Invasion has been compelling, up to this point in time.

While it’s difficult to definitely know where The Marvels will take us, I suspect there’s a lot the trailer isn’t revealing, especially when it comes to tie in to ‘where’ Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) has been nipping off to all the time (unless that’s being built/revealed in Secret Invasion), plus the addition of Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and the frankly brilliant Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) from Ms. Marvel, for a whole lot of fun – and the Flerken aka Goose!
Take a watch of the trailer now:
Nia DaCosta directs with Kevin Feige producing, the screenplay is by DaCosta, Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells – and the film also co-stars Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-Jun, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson.
