For me, the term ‘sun-drenched noir‘ is a curious phrase but in the sense of a seemingly taut and mysterious thriller, then The Lesson definitely has those elements in this well-constructed trailer, for the film that hits UK cinemas on 22 September.

In The Lesson, we follow Liam (Daryl McCormack), an ambitious young writer who eagerly accepts a tutoring position at the family estate of his idol, renowned author JM Sinclair (Richard E. Grant), and his wife Hélène (Julie Delpy). But it’s not before he realises he’s ensnared in a web of family secrets…
Written by Alex MacKeith and Directed by Alice Troughton, this is a strong teaser, and I know the right market for it, and I might even be one of them! Take a watch and let us know what you think in the comments below:
