I’m a Mike Flanagan fan, launching into my psyche with his inspired take on The Haunting of Hill House was an addictive and ‘must talk about to everyone’ watch, he followed it with the impressive The Haunting of Bly Manor, which did stumble on a few issues but then he recaptured all the imaginations with the vivid Midnight Mass that features so many unforgettable performances.

When I first saw the title for his new 8-part mini-series, The Fall of the House of Usher, I’m at an age where I thought it was either about Usher Raymond IV – or some other fashion house I’d not heard of. But it turns out that this is based on a 1839 short story by master of the Gothic Horror, Edgar Allen Poe – and surely this is a perfect team up?
Flanagan directs the series, along with Michael Fimognari, and from this trailer, and with a huge cast that includes…
Bruce Greenwood, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney and Robert Longstreet
… *breathes out* I’d say we’re in for one hell of a crazy ride and I’m in already. Watch the trailer now, and let us know what you think!
In this wicked series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.
