Having grown up in the David Beckham era, and I’m not even a Man Utd supporter, there’s something about his journey that intrigues – and his professionalism throughout the years – as well as his positive work outside of all of that, and this trailer below backs up one hell of an interesting life story.

Beckham, directed by the legendary Fisher Stevens (and produced by Emmy-award-winner John Battsek), is a new four-part documentary series that offers us the inside story of a global football star and cultural icon. I think it’s safe to say that whether you’re into the sport or not, you’ll know his name and something surface level about him.
Here in the UK, you may know of his brief time at Preston but then his eventual central Number 7 space in that Manchester United team of the late 90s, it was a remarkable time for the Red Devils but like all good things… despite good performances, the media coverage and rumours started to take a turn for the worst – and on/off-field issues did definitely start surfacing. But from working-class beginnings, he’s always seemed to have a drive and determination to succeed, and this series looks to delve into everything and his personal life as well, with unprecedented access, check it out:
