It always gets my attention when studios like Marvel switch it up a little, and while we know they’re perfectly capable of going much darker, as they should in all aspects of reality, this first trailer for Marvel Studios’ Echo is especially raw.
Launching on Disney+ on 10 January, 2024, Echo will be a 5-episode series that spotlights the life of Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox) as she’s pursued by Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) criminal empire, but when the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy…

Heading back to Daredevil quickly, and maybe keep a look out in the trailer for possible surprises, D’Onofrio’s Fisk (aka Kingpin) was an absolute beast – in so many respects. One of the genuinely terrifying bad guys, and never in a cliched sense, you really fear him and his no-holds-barred obsessions.
We first saw Alaqua Cox back in the excellent, and underrated, Hawkeye, and if you’d forgotten she’s deaf, so I love that she’s bringing more representation to the community and – just as importantly – she’s a great actress with even more to give! Very much looking forward to early 2024, here’s your first look:
Episodes are directed by Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie, with the series also starring Chaske Spencer, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, and Cody Lightning.
