Writer, Creator and Exec Producer, Cat Jones – alongside producers Firebird Pictures – have added new cast members to their upcoming 4-part BBC crime thriller, The Jetty, that stars Jenna Coleman as Detective Ember Manning.

The series is coming to the BBC and BBC iPlayer, and co-stars Archie Renaux, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, Amelia Bullmore, Ruby Stokes, Tom Glynn-Carney, Weruche Opia, Matthew McNulty, Ralph Ineson, David Ajala, Nina Barker-Francis, Miya Ocego, Elliot Cowan, Shannon Watson, Arthur Hughes and Dominic Coleman.

I’d also highly recommend checking the very dark drama, Klokkenluider, in which Coleman recently starred in a really interesting, deeper role – read my review on that film by clicking here – and here’s your synopsis for The Jetty:

In the four-part series, a fire tears through a holiday home in a scenic Lancashire lake town, and Detective Ember Manning (Coleman) must work out how it connects to a podcast journalist investigating a missing persons cold case and an illicit ‘love’ triangle between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.

But as Ember gets close to the truth, it threatens to destroy her life – forcing her to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about her past, present and the town she’s always called home.

As much a coming-of-age story as a detective thriller, The Jetty promises to asks big questions about sexual morality, identity and memory, in the places that Me Too has left behind. Creator, Cat Jones, had this to say:

“I’m thrilled to have such an amazing cast join Jenna Coleman in The Jetty. It’s been incredibly exciting to see my characters being brought to life by such a talented group of actors.”

The Jetty is directed by Marialy Rivas. The executive producers are Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Sarah Wyatt, Jo McClellan, plus Jones, Rivas, Coleman, for the BBC, and their BBC Studios will distribute the series internationally.
