As one of the finest, most unique music venues in the South-West, I’m very happy to share all the news of the Eden Sessions confirmed for 2024, plus the huge news that The National will play next to the biomes on 2 July 2024, joined by the equally impressive This is the Kit.

This follows the news that Suede and the Manic Street Preachers (29 June), Fatboy Slim (15 July) and JLS (13 July) will play in 2024, and reportedly with a few more names to announce as well.

This will be the Eden debut for the American alternative legends, and I can promise you they’re one of the best live acts in the world right now. Originally formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1999, the 5-piece are comprised of vocalist Matt Berninger alongside two sets of brothers – twins Aaron Dessner and Bryce Dessner, plus Scott and Bryan Devendorf.

The Eden Sessions announcement follows the release of the excellent Laugh Track, their surprise second album of 2023, in September, which follows nine previous studio albums, beginning with their 2001 self-titled debut. More recently, and over the last few years of huge changes across the Globe, they’ve expanded their collaborations with top acts from across the music spectrum.

Brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner co-producing and writing on Taylor Swift’s Evermore, an album on which The National also featured as a band, plus Aaron produced Swift’s Folklore, which won Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards and was named the best album of 2020 by Billboard, Rolling Stone and Time. They’ve also produced work with the likes of Michael Stipe, Ben Howard, and upcoming act Ed Sheeran...

Supporting band, This Is The Kit, are another great alternative rock group led by Paris-based Kate Stables, and released their sixth studio album Careful of Your Keepers, produced by none other than Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals, earlier this year. They’ve also worked with Aaron and Bryce Dessner before, with their third album Bashed Out in 2015. Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, had this to say:

“The National are one of the finest indie rock bands of the last two decades and are rightly seen as legends, influencing artists across a range of genres.

“With two incredible albums released this year alone, The National have shown that they are a vital force in contemporary alternative music and we can’t wait to see them play in our breath-taking and unique venue.”
