Next up from the mighty and in vogue A24, is Love Lies Bleeding, the second feature from the excellent Director Rose Glass, who made quite the impressive impact with Saint Maud back in 2019.

Glass co-writes with Weronika Tofilska, and brings us an electric new love story, with a super, full of scope trailer. When reclusive gym manager Lou (Kristen Stewart) falls for Jackie (Katy O’Brian), an ambitious bodybuilder. But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family….
There’s a lot of brutal, exciting energy in this first look at Love Lies Bleeding, and it feels like a great time for indie/inventive cinema on the subtle lo-fi scale, this is the good stuff, isn’t it? The film also stars Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, Dave Franco, and Ed Harris. Have a watch.
