It feels like there’s been a decent step back from Marvel Studios more recently, time for the dust to rebuild old and new, time for change to be a possibility – and let’s be honest, even being a fan of the franchise – we definitely needed a respite from the usual backlash as well.

So, with Deadpool & Wolverine on the horizon – and leading with fan favourites is a smart move – it’s definitely a good time for a fresh take on key characters, and thus Captain America: Brave New World arrives!
If you’ve been an MCU stalwart, then you’ll know that Anthony Mackie is now officially Captain America, after previously becoming The Falcon, and he took the mantle of Cap in the finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series, back on Disney+ in 2021.

In the film, I’m interested to see how brave this Brave New World is from Marvel – as there’s clearly no perfect society – and let’s also not forget Sam doesn’t have any superpowers – he’s just a human being. So how they handle that should be room for a different approach, and he has family in a vulnerable sense.
In this Captain America: Brave New World teaser trailer, we see Sam meet with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut (replacing the late William Hurt), and then finds himself involved in an international incident. And so, with it, he must investigate the nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red…
Directed by Julius Onah, the film also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Takehiro Hira, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson – Have a watch:
