I did adore the first teaser, and I was going to stay away, but this new trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux is another one to get excited about, the vibe, the cinematic scope, even the strange way it feels like it’s still directly connected to Nolan’s The Dark Knight. As I say with the good stuff, I’m definitely here for it.

In Joker: Folie à Deux, we return to the life of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) who in Arkham Asylum meets Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga; perfect for this role), originally a psychologist he corrupts and charms but this time around… maybe an inmate? I’m sure it’ll unravel in their uniquely crazy love story. And I’m hopeful with the key partnership at the center because they’re two killer talents, taking on complex characters.

Is this a musical… nope, but music plays a huge part, or have they just let the marketing happen organically (sounds like a bastardization of those latter terms), and it feels like they tease and reveal in this quite epic trailer. The film also co-stars Zazie Beetz, Steve Coogan, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and more.
