I’ve remained intrigued by the rumours of the entire Universal Monsters revamp and rework for a while, once coined the Dark Universe, but I don’t really see the need to pigeonhole it too much – but did love the style and story approach of The Invisible Man, which starred a superb Elisabeth Moss – which I reviewed here.

Next up in 2025 is Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man, also from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, which stars Christopher Abbott as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead – the classic!
With his marriage to Charlotte (Julia Garner) fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth)… what could go wrong?
