‘Tis the Damn Season…
And we’re spending October engulfing our brains in all the good darkness, and so this trailer for ‘Salem’s Lot, from New Line Cinema, slots in perfectly to the atmos.
Based on Stephen King‘s novel and written and directed by Gary Dauberman, who made his feature directorial debut with Annabelle Comes Home, and is notably the screenwriter of both IT and IT Chapter Two, we delve into the world of Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman), an author who is still haunted by an incident from his children, yet returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover the town is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire and his loyal servant…

Like most good films these days, it’s set in 1975, when the book was originally published, and features an impressive cast led by Pullman, as well as Makenzie Leigh as Susan Norton, Oscar nom Alfre Woodard as Dr. Cody, John Benjamin Hickey as Father Donald Callahan, Bill Camp as Matthew Burke, Jordan Preston Carter as Mark Petrie, Nicholas Crovetti as Danny Glick, William Sadler as Constable Parkins Gillespie, Spencer Treat Clark as Mike Ryerson, Cade Woodward as Ralph Glick, Debra Christofferson as Anne, and Pilou Asbæk as Richard Straker.
