The Graduate (1967) Mike Nichols’ classic sixties comedy drama made a star of Dustin Hoffman, as a young man trying to find his way in the world and ending up having a potentially ruinous affair with an older woman, Anne Bancroft, who happens to be his girlfriend’s mother.


Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) A steamy romantic comedy from Woody Allen, starring Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Rebecca Hall and Scarlett Johannson, set in Spain during the summer and a wonderful antidote to the February chill.

Far From The Madding Crowd (1967) A simply gorgeous looking film with beautiful leads – Julie Christie, Peter Finch, Alan Bates and Terence Stamp – in one of the greatest adaptations of Thomas Hardy ever.
The Piano (1993) A powerful, mesmeric and haunting story of passion among the elements, in Jane Campion’s astonishingly rich and rewarding period romance starring Holly Hunter and Harvey Keitel. Winner of three Academy Awards, it will be sure to win your heart.
