Danny Dyer is becoming a bit of a British legend, and while usually linked to a certain style or genre, if you’ve seen his brilliant character portrayal in ITV’s Rivals – which was a recent unexpected favourite – then you’ll appreciate he can always change expectations, and that’s a positive to me.
In the past few weeks, principal photography has begun in Ireland on Three Quick Breaths, in which Dyer stars as Jimmy Banks. Described as an ‘old school football agent’, he’s hunting down one last big payday for his star player, as he needs it before both the player and Jimmy’s life falls down.
Directed by Brendan Muldowney, with a by Peter Howlett, it’s also said it’ll be set in a fast-paced, pressure-cooker of a world, that’ll take us with Jimmy into a seedy and exhilarating world of football agents, who live for those big money deals and torch everything else to get them – here’s your first look:

Dyer had this to say about his involvement:
“Shooting Three Quick Breaths in Ireland has been an incredible experience so far – even if most of my time is spent locked in Jimmy Banks’ office! Jimmy’s a character who’s juggling chaos, but there’s so much depth to him – this is a very rare opportunity as an actor to be the only performer in a film. In a way I feel like it’s my Hamlet. It’s a brilliant, clever piece and I’m very proud to be part of it.”
