Sometimes you just need to be swept off down the Italian coast in a soft sensual rush of warm sunshine and radiant hopefulness, and this trailer for Paolo Sorrentino’s Parthenope looks set to certainly revel in that romanticism.

Promising to be a monumental story of a lifetime, we focus in on the life of Parthenope (Celeste Dalla Porta) who’s born in the Bay of Naples in 1950, and searches for happiness over the long summers of her youth, falling in love with her city and its memorable characters….
But when tragedy strikes, and carefree romances lose their thrill, she decides to seek a deeper sense of purpose. Also starring Gary Oldman, Stefania Sandrelli, and Silvio Orlando, have a watch of this one below – you can feel it through the visuals!
Parthenope opens in UK and Irish cinemas on 2 May, from Picturehouse Entertainment
