Whilst we know so many were already huge fans of the podcast Lore, it’s transition to a TV show series on Amazon Prime has found a new audience, alongside those who already enjoyed the new version of the supernatural escapism, and so everyone will be pleased to hear that Amazon Prime Video has greenlit a second series but there will be a few changes to production.
Whilst creator Aaron Mahnke took part in S1, I felt that sometimes his particular style didn’t always come across as potently on the TV as it did with the podcast, see my review here. That being said, the stories were fun and creepy and so Amazon have upped the horror stakes with new showrunner Sean Crouch (The Exorcist, Numb3rs) taking over.

Lore explores the real-life frightening and disturbing tales that give rise to modern-day myths and legends. Series two will feature new tales from the podcast, as well as original stories not yet available in podcast form, and will star new cast members. The hybrid series will continue to feature narration, archive footage and animation to complement the filmed segments.
Heather Schuster, Head of Unscripted Amazon Originals had this to say about its return:
“Customers loved the first series of Lore for its unique blend of narrative and documentary storytelling and we’re excited to give them another series of this suspenseful hybrid show. Sean brings great experience in the supernatural genre, and we’re excited for him to help us tell even more frightening and visually captivating stories.”
