We’ve got the first stills and casting news on this upcoming, impressive-looking indie film The Penitent Thief, which is based on the same novel by Don Willis.

Directed by Jon Blaze and Lucas Miles, The Penitent Thief follows the arduous journey of two unnamed men who were crucified with Jesus, it’s set to star James Russo (Django Unchained), Jay Giannone (Patriots Day), SAG nominee Stelio Savante (Jo The Medicine Runner), Daniela Vidaurre, Kyle Roark, Joey Folsom and Kyle Hotz have all joined the cast of adaptation based on Don Willis‘ book.

The historical drama has begun filming in Arkansas before it moves onto Los Angeles and Texas, here’s your first look:

The Penitent Thief is brought to the screen by 4:13 Films and Miles Media, produced by Lucas Miles and Executive Produced by Don and Julia Willis.
