If you’ve ever seen one of those ads that encourage you to ‘Build Your Own [insert awesome thing here]‘ and wonder what it’s all about, well, I’ve been taking up the challenge! As well as a huge love for Back to the Future, the thought of building my own DeLorean was too good to miss.
With Parts 1-87 already done, we move on with the next 26 (Twenty-six!) parts in one handy summary post and, given the scale of how far I’ve come and the amount of parts, this is more of a picture diary of progression. The truth is, if you need any help on ANY part we’ve covered so far, just leave a message and I’ll always endeavour to help or give advice, accordingly!
And on that note, if you have any questions on the light strip on both sides of the car, the answer is probably ‘No, they don’t fit properly’ but if you can find the right level of strength and tension between bending plastic and no snapping it, like I somehow/luckily did, then that’s the advice you’d need to follow! But, again, happy to give more insight if you need it…
The time has gone so quickly since we hit these stage…
Checked to see if it works..
Inside the doors which I think could have been stronger in connetions
The cover for the engine
And more internal engine parts
Take your time with all this, you don’t want to crush a wire
But when that dashboard lights up, oh wow!
There could have been a bit more work on the Flux…
It’s starting to take shape…
The rear bumper with lights…
My right indication didn’t work but I’ve come too far!
And the front!
Wiring for the front lights
It works, yay!
The edges of the door, these little things make a big difference
LIGHT!!
In the dark, this looks ace. I wish it was brighter but after so much work…
Masking tape…
All about the small details
This section is a little shoddy.
Finally, a spare wheel!
And, yes, there’s even more to add!
In the dark from the front
And a view from behind
Inside the car, I love this element!
And another shot.
The back section isn’t finished it but I had to connect what I’d been sent to see if it worked.
A wider look
It’s all taking shape!
It has been a challenge, but look at her!
If you want to sign up now to Build Your Own Delorean, from Eaglemoss and Universal, it really is simple to get involved – Also, follow my blog along the way as I endeavour to prove that anyone can do this and it can be rewarding.
