Stir it up! In many respects, it feels like telling the right life story of Bob Marley could easily be lost when to comes to a biopic, he’s such an important icon of not just music, but of an entire moment in time, and some films of late – BoRhap for example – have failed to deliver when it comes to fully diving into the reality of a genuine person, who had a massive impact both when they were alive, and even today.

This first trailer Bob Marley: One Love offers us an undoubtedly stirring trailer, with not too much revealed but enough visuals to suggest a more powerful story onscreen. It’s also got all the right people involved, and a fine director in the shape of Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Backed by the Marley family, with Ziggy and Rita on as Exec Producers, Bob Marley: One Love will celebrate both the life and music of the iconic musician, who continues to inspire with messages of love and unity, even in the most troubled times.

The super impressive Kingsley Ben-Adir plays the legend, with Lashana Lynch as Rita, his wife, with co-starring roles for James Norton, Tosin Cole, Anthony Welsh, Michael Gandolfini, Umi Myers, and Nadine Marshall. There was clearly a wealth of adversity in his way, which you might know anyway, and as I also grew up with his music in the house, I’ve got a lot of hope for this one, watch the trailer now:

Bob Marley: One Love comes to UK cinemas on 12 January 2024
