Not a dry eye in the house. And this is just the trailer! Two of my absolute favourite actors of right now, Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, star in We Live in Time, a tale of Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield), who are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives….
Directed by John Crowley (who brought us the wonderful Brooklyn), with a screenplay from Nick Payne, we follow snapshots of their life, from the first ‘meeting’ (you’ll see) through their home and to a family, until a difficult truth is revealed and rocks that foundation.
As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in this clearly decade-spanning and moving romance…
It’s going to get you and, for the record, I welcome it.

The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September, it’s backed by STUDIOCANAL, SUNNYMARCH, FILM4 and A24 (all in caps), coming to cinemas on 1st January 2025:
