I don’t think many could have predicted the huge success, and all in the right, positive ways, for football-based series Ted Lasso but it hit the back of the net globally – and I’ve always been so glad for the stellar cast as well.
Back at the end of Season 3, there was a hint of where the series might move next – if it was to return – and I always wondered if we’d get a film but I’ll certainly take season 4, and that’s lucky… as it’s been announced by Apple TV+ this week!

Jason Sudeikis will return to his award-winning role as the celebrated Coach Ted Lasso, with early rumours also that Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift – and possibly Nick Mohammad – could also be involved, and the star and exec producer (Sudeikis) has this to say:
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap’, in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
On the New Heights podcast, with Travis and Jason Kelce, he shared the news:
“We’re writing season four now, that’s the official word.” and some plot info… “Ted’s coaching a women’s team.”
But in the UK or the States? We shall all find out in due course. Ted Lasso, season four, also adds Jack Burditt (Nobody Wants This, 30 Rock) as executive producer under a new deal with Apple TV+. Other executive producers include Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel.
Brett Goldstein serves as writer and executive producer alongside Leanne Bowen. Sara Walker and Phoebe Walsh will serve as writers and producers for season four, and Sasha Garron co-produces. Julia Lindon will also write for season four, and Dylan Marron serves as story editor.
Ted Lasso Season 4 is in production
