Nothing is more addictive then the past.
With Christopher Nolan’s spending the recent decade trusting audiences with high concept thrillers, it seems like Warner Bros are keeping those avenues open as new film Reminiscence, from writer/director/producer Lisa Joy, looks to be right out there in terms of expanding the mind.
Coming to UK cinemas from 18th August, Reminiscence stars Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson and Thandiwe Newton. It follows a scientist who discovers a way to relive your past and uses the technology to search for his long lost love. Meanwhile, a private investigator uncovers a conspiracy while helping his clients recover lost memories…
I’m trying to get through this without mentioning Nolan again but the similar setup and stylistics of this trailer are darn-near impossible to avoid but – let it be said! – this isn’t a complaint because visually it looks exceptional, and it feels like a merge of the likes of Inception, Memento and even Minority Report – which is going to be hard to ignore when you set something so specifically in time and memory but, yeah, I’m also very up for this journey. You’re waiting for a train…
Watch now and let us know what you think!

I’ll definitely keep this on my radar. Lisa Joy has the runs on the board with her stellar work for Westworld. Hope she smashes this out of the park. Trailer looks good, then again trailers can be deceiving.

Yeah, it’s difficult to tell – I have a feeling I’ll like it for the visual escapism (which does look outstanding) but it does also seem like a few Nolan’s wrapped together.
I’d be very happy to be surprised though, and won’t watch any more trailers beforehand!
