Oh, I do love a trailer for an upcoming film that looks like one thing but undoubtedly suggests otherworldly happenings, and Encounter is definitely in that latter bracket.

Co-written with Joe Barton, Michael Pearce directs, who you may know for Beast, this time teams up with Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer to follow Ahmed’s decorated Marine, who takes on a rescue mission to save his two young sons from a mysterious threat. But as their journey takes them in increasingly dangerous directions, the boys will need to leave their childhoods behind….

The poster doesn’t half resemble Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s The Endless but as I also loved that, this one is on the list!

Encounter also stars Rory Cochrane, Lucian-River Chauhan and Aditya Geddada, it comes to Prime Video from 10 December
