If you’re off a certain age, then this has been a long-time-coming but the first reactions are that of, yes, finally – it looks like a Fantastic Four to really live up to that name.
Coming from that Marvel Studios lot, The Fantastic Four: First Steps comes to cinemas on 25 July, and today they invited a live audience and key cast members to U.S. Space & Rocket Center, HOME of Space Camp, in Huntsville, Alabama, to officially launch the film’s trailer!

If you couldn’t make it there, then there was also a livestream to catch the big debut in real time with the mighty Saturn 5 rocket serving as the backdrop. There in person were the cast from Marvel’s First Family— Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach—who commandeered the countdown and launch surrounded by fans outside the National Geographic Theater.
And this trailer, and setting today, definitely drops into its 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world setting, as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) as they must balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, to defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner)…
Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis, the film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles.
