When we first watched Stranger Things earlier this year, we knew we instantly loved the Netflix show but there’s no way anyone could have predicted the way it has embedded deep into the nostalgia psyche for so, so many fellow friends and fans.
Over that first weekend in mid-July we binge watched and devoured both the story and Upside Down like a powerful demonic demogorgon hunting down its next victim. Thankfully Netflix answered all our desires and promptly confirmed there would be a second season at the end of August and so now, in true modern hype style, we’re taking pictures of every snippet of information from the woods of intrigue. (And if there was a way to save Barb that night, I know we all would have)
There are three newcomers confirmed for Season 2 of Stranger Things, created by Ross and Matt Duffer, and first up is Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen, who according to EW may have a link to Eleven. Secondly, there’s Paul Reiser from the likes of Aliens, who’s playing Dr. Owens and finally the legend that is Sean Astin playing Bob Newby, who’ll manage Hawkins RadioShack. For more in-depth analysis of the castings we recommend heading over to EW who broke the exclusive.
The other confirmed information is that proceedings will be set a year ahead which, logically, makes sense for everyone and especially the young cast. This enables them to not worry the kids aging and also gives the town of Hawkins some time to settle down, we guess, and hopefully be ready for something to kick off again?
All speculation but my oh my, Stranger Things 2 is sure to be another fun ride as the Duffer brothers have a lot planned. So in the meantime all your favourites, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, and Joe Keery, will return in 2017 exclusively on Netflix.
