Here’s your first ‘must see’ of 2017, it’s the deliciously dark directorial debut of Alice Lowe, it’s called Prevenge and it’s coming to UK cinemas from 10th February 2017 – Trailer below alongside with 16 UK Q and A dates…
This one is a dark, wry British comedy that follows Ruth, a pregnant woman on a killing spree that’s as funny as it is vicious because it’s her misanthropic unborn baby dictating Ruth’s actions, holding society responsible for the absence of a father. With Lowe in the lead role, it also stars Jo Hartley, Gemma Whelan, Kate Dickie, Kayvan Novak, Tom Davis, Dan Skinner, Tom Meeten and Mike Wozniak.
Prevenge looks seriously messed up, but in a fun way, and sees the super talented Lowe writing, directing, and acting in the film during her own real-life pregnancy. It was shown at various film festivals, including Venice, Toronto and the London International Film Festival, to much acclaim and we can’t wait for this to get out there:
