Great clip from Ben Edlund’s ‘The Tick’ starring Peter Serafinowicz – Debuting on Amazon Prime 25 August!

“In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with zero powers comes to realise his city is owned by a super villain. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero…”

Because it deserves a little background… The Tick was created by Ben Edlund back in 1986 and although originally just a mascot for a Boston comic-book store chain, his character became a bit of a fan favourite and spawned his own comic a couple of years later. In all his essence, The Tick is actually a spoof of your classic American comic-book heroes but he found something of a cult-status with a cartoon series back in the mid-90s. There also followed a brief ‘real-life’ action series in the early 2000s starring Patrick Warburton as the lead, but it seemed like the broadcasters didn’t know what to do with him at the time, it’s definitely still worth a watch though!

The new series, that starts on Amazon Prime from 25 August (this Friday!), sees Edlund return as a exec producer and this time stars the magnificent Peter Serafinowicz in the titular role, you’ll know him from the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy, Shaun of the Dead, Spaced and was even the voice for Darth Maul. Alongside him, is Griffin Newman as Arthur Everest , and Valorie Curry as Dot Everest plus Jackie Earle Haley as ‘The Terror’.
