Now’s here something definitely outside of the usual TV or docu-series, as critically acclaimed best-selling author, explorer and photographer, Levison Wood, explores and reveals a rarely ventured route through challenging environments into remote corners of Arabia.
Arabia with Levison Wood is a new five-part series, coming to DVD and Digital from 14th October, and shows us the real story of the Middle East through its people. I’ve always found one of the best ways to learn about any country is to visit, explore and experience and so this is something that already feels excitingly refreshing:
The series explores the human lives and hopes of Syrian grandmothers, Iraqi snipers, shepherds, drug dealers, freedom fighters and nomads – and we’ll also get to hear Levison reflect throughout on how his preconceptions may have changed or remained during his most extraordinary adventure yet.
For those who don’t know, Levison does have elite military training, so this isn’t just (the excellent) Michael Palin kind of jaunt, as he has necessary skills to tackle the very toughest challenges. We’ll follow him as he travels from Iraq to the Gulf States, from Oman and Yemen to Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Israel and Syria before Levison ends his journey on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in Lebanon.
