We’re definitely fans of Ben Wheatley here at CP, and his ventures into all kinds of genres and darkness is always welcome as far as I’m concerned. The director of such films as Kill List, Sightseers, Free Fire, A Field In England and High Rise now reaches his next film, In The Earth, on 18 June in cinemas – yes! Your official synopsis says:

As the world searches for a cure to a disastrous virus, a scientist and park scout venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run. Through the night, their journey becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness, the forest coming to life around them.

Written by Wheatley, the film stars Ellora Torchia, Joel Fry, Reece Shearsmith, John Hollingworth, Mark Monero and Hayley Squires – here’s your trailer:
