I was intrigued by Shining Vale, after hearing about it late year, and today’s trailer gives us an interesting mix of horror, family drama and a touch of comedy, which I also wonder is being slightly underplayed but could be a different type of show to what’s expect, maybe with a darker hint of Beetlejuice?

Created by Sharon Horgan and Jeff Astrof, it stars Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear and Mira Sorvino and the title isn’t accidental (check out The Shining curtains in this snippet), as the series follows Pat and Terry Phelps (Cox and Kinnear), parents who cash in their life savings and move from their apartment in Brooklyn, to an old mansion in Shining Vale, Connecticut in an effort to save their marriage and family, after a series of disconnections between all aspects of theirs lives, and especially Pat….

Co-starring Gus Birney, Merrin Dungey, Dylan Gage, Judith Light, and Sherilyn Fenn, Shining Vale releases that everyone has their demons but, for Cox’s Pat Phelps, this time they may be real:

Shining Vale premiere with two back-to-back episodes Sunday, 6 March 2022 on STARZPLAY in Europe, Latin America and Japan, and in the U.S. and Canada on all STARZ platforms
