Another series that’s right up my street, and Apple TV+ just keep bringing these inquisitive and exciting original works to the small screen (click here for a stupendous selection of recommendations) – so you have to watch this first trailer for Surface starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw!

Coming to the streaming service from 29 July, Surface is a new 8-part psychological thriller from creator Veronica West, which is set to make its global debut with the first three episodes on that opening day, and then one new episode weekly, every Friday. Alongside Mbatha-Raw, who’s always bloody brilliant, is the ensemble setup of Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, François Arnaud and Millie Brady.

Set in San Francisco, Gugu Mbatha-Raw plays Sophie, a woman who has suffered a traumatic head injury that has left her with extreme memory loss, believed to be a result of a suicide attempt. As she embarks on a quest to put the pieces of her life back together, she begins to question whether or not the truth she is told is in fact the truth she has lived…. check out the trailer:
