With David Fincher traipsing the past six dark years between the likes of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and the brilliant new version of House of Cards, it’s clear he’s found an exciting, enticing and namely murky waters on the edge of the human psyche. This first teaser for Mindhunter, coming in October to Netflix, ticks all the previous boxes and possibly adds a new twist on the psychological thriller as it’s exploring the worlds of serial killers. It almost feels too perfect for Fincher and, rather uncomfortably, I’m more than eager to see where he takes us and especially with Charlize Theron also on exec producer duties.
Starring Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Fringe‘s excellent Anna Torv, there’s a director’s spot for Amy‘s Asif Kapadia, with John Douglas and Joe Penhall on writing duties, who all follow this to the point synopsis…
An agent in the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit develops profiling techniques as he pursues notorious serial killers and rapists.
It might well be one of my favourite teasers of late, watch now:
